I have the honour to acknowledge the re-

ceipt of your despatch No.101 of the 11th.ultimo offering

Mr.J.R.Crook, Executive Engineer in the Public Works Depart-

ment, the appointment of Government Engineer at Gibraltar,

and to inform you that yesterday I telegraphed to you as follows,stating that Mr.Crook accepts the appointment but
